Streaming Video

I need help...

Not the kind of help that most of you think I need...but Im pushing my comfort level regarding Web Admin stuff and Im hoping that someone here can either give me some good advice or point me in the right direction.

I have a a few videos Ive put together for my Novaworld buddies and I would like to make the splash page on our website all diesel and stuff....but....Im over my head.

Is it an HTML thing, or do I need a special utility running on the index page to stream a video Ive uploaded to the server?

Any help you peeps can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Oddly enough, I'm not an expert in this but if you PM cainan he might know something about it. Foo Fighter may also know something.

I may be wrong, but I am about 87% sure that if you have flash, shockwave, or WMV content you can use a special content-type tag to force the browser to invoke the plugin "automatically" and I don't see why this wouldn't work for some people with MPG content as well. Unfortunately, I don't know the content type tags or the HTML "super" tag (i.e., maybe it's <IMG> but maybe not) to use for this. Again, HTML is not my specialty, but if no one else pipes up hopefully I've given you something to try.

Re:Streaming Video

The tag you are looking for, i believe is the <EMBED>

It allows you to embed content into the webpage. you can look it up in any advanced HTML reference online. Gooooooogle is yooooooour friend. Smile

But if you need assistance, let me know.
I'm finally coming out of my hiatis.. and maybe in tyhe next monthish i can
