Ok....my Black Hawk Down squad mates have been priming me for the last few days and while I havent logged in and played the COOP servers yet,...they assure me that these servers are in fact 100% COOP. That is to say.....you....and other live peeps must rally together to complete a common objective against very formidable A.I.
Ill will be installing the Joint Operations base game tonight and taking it out for a test drive to get some first hand Voodoo'ish impressions. Ill make a full report. HUGE maps, formidable A.I., drivable vehicles ( choppers, boats, buggies, Duece 1/2's, Humvees, Tanks )
all this...for $20 at your local Walmart!!
oh yea, i forgot to ask: anybody want to link me a decent review of the nostromo pad? if not, i'll try to find one and post a link.
Here is the Belkin site http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=2071&pcount=&Product_Id=157024
But...it aint $49...I paid less than $25
sweet. so how many functions did you program into it for this game?
i'll probably pick up the game this week, if i get my homework done.
f00
There are 15 keys, a scroll wheel ( 3 position ), a pushbutton, and a 8 way D pad.
I have everyone of them bound to a game function...and Im still shuffleing to optimize it to the way I play.
Did I mention the control dynamics were humungalous?

freaky. the game controller info says it's got like, 104 programmable functions. you haven't even scratched the surface if the marketroids are telling the truth.

HMMMM I should consider buying this lovely game...$20...yes....yesss...

I picked up my copy at Best Buy, but I've seen it at Fry's too. Maybe someday I'll get to play it. Hope you have luck finding it, Mel!
If you can't find it, I'll pick one up at Fry's or Best Buy here in A-town and you can paypal me for it. Just let me know. It's running 19.99 + 8.25% Value Deleted Tax. If you want to be a dear and cover shipping, too, I can probably UPS it for around $6.
If you find it online, you should hopefully get a better deal than this, if only by avoiding some of the tax or getting free shipping.
Of course, I'm only offering cuz its Mel. Anyone else is welcome to grovel and I'll see what I can do, but I won't ship international and in spite of some ebayers opinions to the contrary, Canada is international. Nothing against Canada or any other country, I just don't like dealing with the extra forms and declared value crap.

Yea.....if you count up the discreet keys I listed, its something close to 26...and there are 4 different mode shifts. So you can program 4 sets of 26 key maps. The different mode shifts are indicated by 3 LED indicators on the pad itself which assist in knowing which mode shift you have selected. Red/Blu/Green/None. If you can keep track of which key bind you put the nades on, and which mode it lives on...you are a better killer than I.
yes, yesssss you should, you wants it, precious.

Re:Nova World Joint Ops is COOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okidokie....just came from a totally kick ass session of Joint Operations -Typhoon Rising with 3 other doods from my Black Hawk Down squad.
Its true!! this is truly COOP game play...where we are given a set of goals to accomplish like "Rebels have set up shop in an abandoned factory where they have taken a village hostage. You must liberate the hostages and wipe out all hostile targets" Then you are given a set of waypoints to follow "alpha bravo charlie...blah blah blah"which take you through the geographical places you need to be to accompish the goals. You dont necessarily have to follow the waypoints but it sure helps to have a plan that everyone follows.
Dont like to stay with your team? Sucks to be you because there are usually enough "Tango's" to make sure you are shot in the face. and while we are on the subject....OHHHHHH THE A.I.!
Very smart...and dey dont take no chit!! Like to stay hidden and stealthily snipe with an M4 from 100 meters? Good luck because while you may take out a few of the bad guys cousins, he will find a way to you..and he has no problem swimming UNDERWATER to find you, picking his head up once in a while.
Im not sure that this post is adequately displaying my emotional state right now...so...let me expound...
THIS GAME EFFING ROCKS!!! and may well be the next Voodooliscous game we can all get back together with.
Let me just warn you up front, the control dynamics are about four hundred and eleventy percent more complicated than NOLF. If you havent discovered the Belkin Nostromo 52 game pad yet, I would highly recommend you find the price du jour from pricegrabber.com and spend the $25.
If you are looking for a TRUELY realistic combat FPS with COOP game multiplayer game play...this puppy is the real deal.
I cant talk anymore...I have to go play some of the training missions. the first time I tried one, I flew my fast attack helicopter into a grove of Palm trees. Not pretty...not pretty indeed. Youd be suprised how much more crashing an aircraft hurts than missing the snomo jump!

How about some screenies?
Re:Nova World Joint Ops is COOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep...dats de bad boy. There is also an expansion pack that has more single player missions ( heh...who needs those? ) but it adds some weapons to your arsenal as well as more drivable stuff...like an M1 Abrams Tank!!
Crap.....its only 8:30am here....and now youve got me going again. Now I have to Jones to get back into the servers the whole rest of the day.

Depending on how I do on Sunday (belated bday party, yay me!) I may just have to pick this up. If you do get a chance, some screenies would be cool.
