Well, sort of. I'm downloading HL2 from Valve via Steam. As soon as D-day hits (Nov. 16) the unlock code is emailed to me, and I switch from mild mannered Foo Fighter to Gordon Freeman; pissed off scientist and savior of humanity. The only real problem is its probably going to take me a couple day of leaving my PC on to download the whole 12GB!

Dood...thats insane!! Not only do you have to endure the pain of a 12gig download, but you have to back it up anyway...lest you have a HDD crash and lose everything.
Ill stroll into Walmart the day its released and pick up my copy, and I too will become a Bio Suited Scientist turned SuperHero just so I can continue to shoot aliens that look like a cross between a Spiral Cut Ham and a Schnauzer.

That's not just for the game itself. I purchased the Silver package which includes Counter Strike Source, and Day of Defeat.

you have a 16GB disk? i can barely fit Nolf, Nolf2, CJ, and BloodRayne in that with XP Home...
i just upgraded my game disk to 30GB and its mo' comfier.

I think Western Digital is shipping 120g harddrives out with a $50 bill strapped to them...they are just that cheap now!!
Oh yea....if you want a Harddrive that actually werks, you should prolly order the Maxtor....they are alittle more expensive!

I gave a 250 Gigabyte harddrive. But with Maxtors, you do need Partition magic otherwise when you format, only 130 gigabytes get recognized.
I think my Maxtor was about $120.00 with a $40 rebate.

my total spce on my hard drive is 24GB and as of right now i have:
Battle field vietnam(ww2 mod, point of existence mod), Return to castle wolfenstein, enemy territory, warcraft 3(frozen throne expansion), Halo, nolf2, america's army. To top that off i still have 42% freespace left on it.
yeah i kinda went of track there lol srry.

yes, it's a bit more expensive, but its worth every penny to get a 3 yr warranty on a big drive that isn't from WD. i've been buying Maxtor's and Samsungs. The Samsungs seem a little faster for sustained throughput but the Maxtor's seem to have better burst rates. If you buy the right models, both brands back their drives with a 3yr warranty.
Having said that, so does WD. But that warranty doesn't help you much when you lose 120GB of stuff. I can't say that I recommend WD, I've never had a positive experience with them.

It's a shame IBM got out of the HD business. For a time, their Deskstar HDs were excellent.
