SHG and Agent/Check for multiple registration

Ok, I know theres someone who plays under the Agent handle
Then theres newly registered player named SHG.
I happen to come across a Server titled Agent's server and SHG was playing on it and had a ping of 0.
It could be coincidence, but I thought I'd let you know.

Im sure Cainan can grab the IP addy that was registered for both players. I can only see it if he posts something and even then, I can only compare if both players make posts.
Help us Obie Wan Cainobi...youre our only hope. Of course if I know Cainan.....he willl delete both accounts without even checking

Actually Mellie... I thought I remember seeing an Agent Playing myself so I checked the list...yet oddly there is no registered player under the name Agent.
Only possibility I can think of is that tey are the same dood, and he just comes in under either of the 2 names...shame shame Mr Agent!
Someones being a naughty boy! We should " remind" him to read the posts concerning playing under a name thats not registered.

i this to say, and its going to sound like i'm mad. i'm not. i'm not even cranky. well, not about this... but i want to make clear how i use this type of information and what i need before i am likely do something in similar cases.
a shared ip or odd ping time between two purported identities factor in to my decisions and i am glad to have the regulars looking out for us. PLEASE

keep the reports coming... just don't expect me to ban two or more identities when the only reason is that the round trip light time between them isn't what we think it ought to be or they aren't using as many different ip addresses as we think they ought. combine it with two parts "situational awareness deficiency" or "playing the klutz role poorly" and stir in three cups of profanity and now i've got something i can cook with. 
Cainan might feel differently... and if he wants to be more aggressive i won't complain. I just didn't want anyone wondering why the next time I get an ip address and two names, I don't immediately press the red button.
obviously... in this case we also have a rules violation. i like gorf's suggestion. i assume that gorf will ask cousin guido to explain that we would like players to use the names on the server that they use on the board. in the unfortunate circumstance that the players are unable to come to a mutually beneficial understanding on this matter, then i can only assume that guido will explain regretfully that they will of course be unwelcome on our server, but would they please feel free to visit the nearest aquarium or construction site immediately, and at our expense.
that guido. he's a smooth operator...

Already did....Twice
Once as a sticky in the Voodo Forum under "VERY VERY Important Post" ( which incidentally has been read 47 times ), and once as a copy adding to the server password thread.

LOL....Agent is "Cutting a Rug" in this years Portland Spring line....
Well..I would send him a PM but apparantly the majority of our registered peeps are more interseted in playing that communicating.
I was planning on swooping down from my "perch on high" ( AKA the Game Console ) and doing the ole anonymous lecture thing. A couple of head shots would accentuate the point though.....no...musnt...kill..team...mmmates....anymore

Cainan did what I thought he would do....saw it was a multiple based on the IP addy and deleted it. Have to ask him. I say that based on the fact that I do not beleive you are allowed to edit your name in the profile section

maybe. or maybe you can delete yourself and reregister...
point is... not registered now.... under that name... so uh... use your own judgement. if they normally play ok, a nice gentle tranq^H^H^H^H^Hreminder in the back of the head might be appropriate. if they play like an arse... sign 'em up for the fashion show/dance revue or "invite" them to the "aquarium"

I have a very strictly enforced 'Kill now, don't listen to explanations later' policy.
Based on mellie's info, and teh fact that they were both registered under similar email addresses, and same IP address classes, i nuked Agent, and left SHG.
if its roomates, perhaps they will re-register, and explain that next time.
or maybe they'll just sod off.. who knows? who cares?

I noticed that Cainan and f00 are both registered under similar addresses, usually have ultra low pings to the server and frequently use the same ip address. I firewalled them off and deleted them from the forum. Maybe they'll reset their modems, re-register and explain it sometime next year when they get new ip addresses. Maybe its coincidence, Maybe they're live-in lovers. Maybe they'll sod off... who cares?
seriously... part of the pain of overseeing this kind of thing is that sometimes you have to make a tough call on the fly and i'll be the first to agree that in those cases it usually
Poor Agent. Maybe if s/he/it had heeded gorf's earlier challenge and actually introduced him/her/itself none of this would ever have happened.
[*] there are cases where more caution is appropriate. for example, when your employee number is #4000 maybe you should think twice about stripping employee #1 of remote access when he's at a customer site to fix a crisis, unless you want your a55 stuffed with the badge and handed back to you on a platter. No, my employee number in this scenario was not #4000... and it wasn't hypothetical. And no, to my knowledge, no one else here was involved.

Oh and f00.....did the badge have one of those collar clips on it, or did it have a neck lanyard? The latter prolly would have "gone down" alittle easier. Im guessing employee #1 was like...the owners son or something.
