The Gold edition is better. You should be able to join. We might not be able to join any sessions you host while you are hosting maps we don't have, and we'll get kicked from your sessions when your server switches to a map we don't have.

But we believe you should be able to join our server. In any case, Cainan is looking at adding the expansion pack that turns our edition into the Gold edition so we'll see how it goes.

I blame those people who cause me problems. For example.....someone is kicking my ass in a DM game...Im blaming that person for kicking my ass. Someone is hiding a crucial element in a hobby that could quite possibly eliminate the possibility of spending time with me, Im blaming that person for stealing disk 2. If the gender of both of those people happen to be of the female type persuasion....I calls em likes I sees em.

I am so not good at DM I walk away with a tension headache because Im focusing so intensely....but....AVP2 is so friggin much fun...i dont care.

Its like a giant DM asprin!

The maps are awesome, intricate.....the very nature of the hunt is a hide and seek situation instead of running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

Love AvP2 MP so far, but my god the predator mode sucks so badly. The should fired weapons is can't hit the broad side of a marine's ass at close range. When I shoot it travels right past my apponent. It has caused me to die multiple times. And what's up with the handheld blaster weapon? After a few rounds it runs empty and won't fire. I hate it.

the blue is for auto aim against marines. use red against aliens and the funky negative mode against other preds and mecha.

as for the hand blaster, right click seems to stun and damage, left click seems to just shoot. it uses your ennergy (blue bar on right side) and so does cloaking ( c key) so to recharge use the energy sifter (t) key but beware the sifter makes u a sitting duck until its done. to heal use g key but this really zaps energy too and makes u sitting duck bla bla bla.

Yea....the games are VERY dark...matter of fact, when I started playing this again..I was pissed that there is no inherent gamma adjust tool in the game like there is on every other fps developed in the last 5 years.

Technically...i guess...it adds to the "feel" of the game. The movies were all about being scares shitless because people are generally afraid of what they cant see

Once you get past the newness of the interface...it sort of falls into place though. In the mode we were playing last night ( Alien vs Predator ), illumination is overrated because your targets have green auras if you are the alien, and if your the predator, you have the red vision mode with auto tracking( which i found to be VERY effective...much to f00's chagrin)
Generally..the Predator has superior vision capabilites, the alien has an enhanced "FLIR" type mode, and the marine has a wimpy ass "flashlite" which is great as long as your enemy is right in your face...but it does help with Navigation while your radar is picking up movement.

I hope you stick with it Mellie...we need more voodoo people to play so its even more fun....and while I had fun gutting you several times last night...secretly...I felt bad
