I know I know....in Austin....its alot of snow especially since it takes 20 years between incidents.
I bet there was at least one 10 (or more ) car pile up somewhere.
Cool pics dood!
Didnt know you were a short wav op. Somethin I always wanted to get into...huh...found NOLF instead :?
Heh... from Michigan originally so for me it was a novelty but yer dang right. Not a lot of snow
As for the mast on the roof... just how do you think you connect to the nolfage anyway? In an emergency, it is theoretically possible for me to keep the server up over 1200bps VHF packet links... ought to make Lenna's connection look like a ferrari!
I find the radio stuff to be fun, although my packet modem is a POS... maybe someday I'll get it working. Been having too much fun with these new skizzins from Cainan to worry much about it.
Living in Wyoming we get snow and right now it is -3 degrees farenheit. So quit your griping .
On a good note I get to go tubing (as in sliding down a hill on of a tube, on the snow) Sunday. Can't beat playing in the snow even if it is as cold as the inside of a Icecream truck in July in Austin.
Easy now I don't think those who live below 42N should try to tell those who have lived above 42N what snow is. But I'm not naming any *cough**laramie* names...
In any case, if you've never experienced the full frontal assault that is Lake Effect, it's possible that you have really missed out... And while -3 *is* cold, and you may have a stuck accelerator in the morning when you try to start your car, have you ever had your accelerator freeze solid after driving on the highway for 40 minutes? I have... About the only thing I haven't seen up close and personal is my own spit freezing before it hits the ground... and that may only be because I'm not in the habit of checking.
Incidentally, about our Texas snow today, I have since heard from a different neighbor that we had this 6 years ago... I was here then and the snow we got was like the powder gorf leaves behind when he falls off the Atkins diet in a moment of blissful donut-filled weakness. It was nothing like this and was gone in minutes, unlike today where we still have stuff on the ground.
There are days when I miss it, especially tubing or sledding, and snowball fights... but I don't miss the shoveling and scraping. And now I don't even have to buy a snowmobile to land one on someone's roof...
Pfffft! That's nothing. My location is covered with 10 inches of the white stuff. What you got there is a mere dusting. Try driving on ice covered roads, now that's fun.
Foo Fighter I can still one up. Try riding your bike on ice/snow covered roads in a college town where most the clowns have never seen 2 inches of snow before coming here. That's fun
(poor college girl syndorme w/ no car )
And f00 I've heard the lake effect is a bitch, but doesn't keep you as warm.
Re:No, Comrade, Really! Whose Footprints ARE these?
